Nba Playoff Tickets – Plenty Of Big-Time Potential Opening Round Matchups

While there are always a few mismatches in the opening round of the NBA playoffs, there are typically a few highly-touted matchups, as well.  As the playoff seeds get ironed out over the next couple weeks, there seem to be some of the best opening round matchups in recent years taking shape, making sure that <a href=”http://www.stubhub.com/nba-playoff-tickets/”>NBA playoff tickets</a> will continue to be among the most prominent tickets around.  With a plethora of talented players looking to make their marks on a bigger stage, the opening rounds will be a very telling litmus test for some teams with championship aspirations.  As the playoff seeds start getting locked up over the next couple of weeks, here are a few potential matchups to look out for.

Denver Nuggets/Phoenix Suns: The Suns may continue to surge up the Western Conference standings, potentially reaching as high as the two seed, but as of April 2nd the Suns look to be pitted against the Denver Nuggets in the opening round.  For fans who like offense, this matchup would have it in spades.  The Nuggets and Suns are the two highest scoring teams in the league, averaging 106.9 and 110.5 points per game, respectively, and a matchup between the two would ensure that it would be a shootout like no other series around.

Led by Steve Nash, who remains one of the very best point guards in the league, the Suns have a wealth of offensive talent that has the potential to put up points in bunches.  Nash is once again having an unbelievable season shooting and distributing the ball, helping keep Amare Stoudemire among the highest scoring power forwards in the league.  Shooting 42% from three-point land, 93% from the free throw line and 50% from the field, one can make the argument that Nash is the best overall shooter in the league.  His 11 assists per game are also tops in the league.

For the Nuggets, Carmelo Anthony continues to be an explosive scorer and Chauncey Billups is having another solid season at point.  Adding in players like J.R. Smith, who can fill up the stat sheet when he’s selective with his shots, the Nuggets can score with anyone in the league.  A Nuggets/Suns matchup might be among the most entertaining in the whole playoffs.

Oklahoma City Thunder/Dallas Mavericks: The Mavs have their best team in a while and Dirk Nowitzki is still an elite talent.  Though Jason Kidd isn’t the same player he was five years ago, he is still a very strong floor general that has the Mavs playing at a very high level, bringing murmurs of title contention to Big D.  The Thunder, on the other hand, are just arriving at national prominence.  Kevin Durant is one of the top scorers in the league already and players like Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook have emerged as very solid scoring options as well.  They may lack the interior presence to win a title this year, but the Thunder are in prime position to make some noise in the opening round of the playoffs, whether they play the Mavs, the Jazz or the Suns.

Atlanta Hawks/Miami Heat: With the Celtics starting to fade a bit heading down the stretch, the Hawks seem locked into the third seed in the East and the Heat seem destined to finish as the sixth seed.  Built on young, energetic players, the Hawks are an athletic team with a solid core group of shooters surrounding their talented interior players Josh Smith and Al Horford.  The Heat have Dwyane Wade, which is always enough for an intriguing series, as he continues to be among the most electric players in the NBA.  The Hawks certainly have the Heat in depth, as most teams do, but Wade makes the Heat an intriguing team to watch no matter who they match up against in the playoffs.

Milwaukee Bucks/Boston Celtics: Formerly a stalwart in the Eastern Conference, not to mention the entire NBA, the Celtics seem to be on the downslide.  The Bucks, on the other hand, are one of the surprise teams in the league and have an opportunity to announce to the rest of the NBA that they are for real moving forward.  Center Andrew Bogut has shrugged off talk of him being a bust and is playing some of the best center in the league and guard John Salmons has been simply amazing since coming over from Chicago.  The Celtics still have plenty of marquee players but will be in danger of getting taken out in the first round by the underappreciated Milwaukee Bucks.
