Which coin grading companies are reliable?
I often see coins that are PCGS graded going for much more than those graded by other independent companies, such as NGC, ICG, NAC, etc. Is PCGS just the ultimate in standard in authenticity?

PCGS is more of a friend to coin dealers so they are pushed more that is only for grading, they are supposed to have high standards in grading, but that is debatable. Now authenticity is another matter and I send coins to the expert I think is best, that works at either PCGS,NGC or ANACS. Also one must remember to send in coins to PCGS you must join their club so to speak. With NGC you can send in your coins direct if you are a member or a member of the American Numismatic Assoc. With ANACS you can do it direct without joining anything. Even though grading services have been around for a while they are not excepted by all coin collectors for in the end it is just someones opinion for there is no scientific grading. Also make sure the coins you buy meet the grade on the holder and if you send in coins make sure they are valuable enough so you can get the grading fees back when you sell the coin. I see PCGS graded coins selling for less than the grading fees, of course the other services are the same on that.
